The Supreme Court just ruled that a mans land is less dear than a new office complex. The Court has paved the way for great eminent domain abuses by enacting the first in what will surely be a new area of corporate welfare.
Of course the state will argue that the greater revenue from the office complex will be larger than the property tax on the land that was there before, but would that theft not be the same as pushing a mom and pop shop out of a private space in order to pump a more successful international fast food giant in the same square feet?

Well, true to form a group called Free Star Media have a brilliant idea.
Supreme Court Justice David H Souter's vote allowed the city government to take the land from one private owner and give it to another 'if the government will generate greater tax revenue . . . when developed by the new owner'.
Free Star (No known relation to www.homestarrunner.com has begun the permit process to build a hotel on the land owned by Justice Souter.
The 'Lost Liberty Hotel'

You can actually donate a few dollars to this lost hotel idea and give a Supreme Court Justice a small taste of his own medicine.
